She shares her journey and advice for women entering the tech industry, along with what makes Computershare a place she’s proud to call home.

Q: Can you describe your role and how long you’ve been doing it?

A: I’m a Senior Software Engineer and I’ve been with Computershare for the past three years. I love my work; the challenges and the constant learning keep me excited. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters.

Q: What attracted you to join Computershare?

A: What really stands out for me are the great people I work with and the supportive management. There are fantastic career opportunities here, along with development tools and thousands of learning resources. Another big highlight the company’s commitment to work-life balance. The hybrid working model really works well for me and my family.

Q: How has Computershare supported you in achieving your career goals so far?

A: It's been supportive. When we come up with new ideas or innovative tools, the company genuinely listens and values our input. We’re given the freedom to explore those ideas, and we’re encouraged to present them to leadership. It’s empowering to know that your voice matters and that your creativity is supported.

Q: Have you ever experienced any challenges as a woman in technology, and if so, how did you overcome them?

A: I’m grateful that throughout my career, I’ve worked with great people and mentors. But in the early stages, it was harder to gain trust from the team as a woman. I often felt like I had to prove myself to be seen as equal to my male counterparts. One moment that stuck with me was when I was the lead developer on an application, but a colleague bypassed me and went to a male teammate with a question. I addressed it directly and resolved the issue, but it reminded me how important it is for women to speak up and be assertive. That experience taught me a lot about standing my ground and building confidence.

Q: How do you balance your work and personal life?

A: Computershare has been fantastic in supporting work-life balance. The hybrid working model gives me the flexibility I need - especially now that both of my daughters are in college. It allows me to see them and support them when they need me, which means a lot. That flexibility makes a huge difference. It helps me stay committed to my work because I feel trusted and supported. When you have that kind of balance, you’re more motivated to give your best and go the extra mile.

Q: What advice would you give to other women starting out a career in technology today?

A: One of my biggest things is speak up. Never be afraid to ask questions in the room, no matter how experienced others may be. Your voice matters and asking questions is how you grow. Embrace change. Technology is always a changing environment, and it’s a lifelong learning path.  Also, find a mentor early in your career. A good mentor can guide you through challenges and help you navigate your path. I’ve had great mentors, and I now try to be that person for others, especially younger colleagues across different countries. I also see my manager as a mentor - she leads with humility and has been a great example for me.

Q: What really stands out for you about working at Computershare?

A: The job is fun, challenging, and increasingly innovative. We’re always researching new tools and technologies to improve efficiency, which keeps things exciting. But what truly stands out is the great people to work with. I work with a fantastic team, and there’s always room to grow. New ideas are welcomed and encouraged, and that openness makes it a great environment to thrive in. I genuinely love working here.
