Wearing a couple of hats, Mark McDougall brings a mix of management, strategic and technical expertise to his roles with Computershare.
Before joining Computershare in 2009 as Global CTO to lead our Global Development Group, Mark worked as a management consultant and held various roles within the financial services industry. He was appointed Global CIO in 2014 and is currently responsible for all aspects of line-of-business application development and management, governance, and Computershare’s customer-driven innovation framework.
Born in Melbourne to an English mother and Australian father, Mark grew up in a semi-rural area (now suburban) surrounded by orchards and parklands. With a much older brother and sister, he was probably exposed to more than otherwise due to the age gap.
Schooling was made up of local primary schools, Camberwell Grammar, University of Melbourne and finally Monash University. During a university sabbatical Mark worked full time as a recording engineer and record producer which, while high pressure, was an amazing experience.
Mark eventually landed in the IT industry with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in the financial services vertical. After many years with the company, he was recruited to work at one of Computershare’s clients, NAB. Several years after that, he was recruited to join Computershare, which has been the most wonderful journey.
When not at work, Mark spends his time with his gorgeous wife of 20 years, Nadia, two rambunctious teenage boys, a plump British Blue cat, Blossom, and the newest member of their family a Cavoodle puppy, Maggie.
