EU Commission Consultation on dismantling barriers and future strategy for post-trade services
On 23 August 2017, the European Commission (EC) published a wide-ranging consultation on dismantling barriers and future strategy for post-trade services. The results of the consultation will contribute to a communication on post-trade which is planned for the end of 2017, and to future legislative appraisals.
The consultation conducts an extensive review of global trends, technologies and competition in the post-trade environment, and seeks views on how the future landscape will be impacted by:
Automation- New technology e.g. distributed ledgers
- Competition and rules impacting cross-border arrangements
- Shareholder relations
- Brexit
