OpenSpace: Governance events for future leaders to build their network

OpenSpace is a platform for junior governance professionals and company secretaries to hear from expert panelists as they discuss governance, their role and the industry. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with peers, chat with experts and enjoy some food and drink along the way. Those attending are one step ahead in building a fantastic community of professionals that they can rely on for the rest of their career.

Through joining OpenSpace, you can build your network with junior and senior professionals who can be your first port of call throughout your career. Attendees have made friends and developed long-lasting relationships through OpenSpace.

Anyone can join OpenSpace events. However, we would recommend that you take a look at the topic before signing up. Most of our events are best suited to the future leaders of governance, in particular young company secretaries and governance professionals looking to step up in their career.

It depends on the event however we don’t like to make things too formal. At most events, there’ll be some form of panel discussion, featuring a networking session after the event. There’ll be plenty of Computershare staff around to talk to, alongside industry experts and your peers. If you don’t fancy the networking, you can only attend the panel discussion.

We’ll let you know before the event if food or drink will be provided. On most occasions, we’ll provide nibbles and some drinks to keep you going.

It depends on the event. Sometimes, we like to do things a bit different and run a fun interactive session. However, we would usually have a 30 min to 1 hr panel beforehand, which includes the chance for you to ask the questions you need.

No, OpenSpace is free for all attendees. 

We cover anything and everything impacting the profession. Our main aim is to bring the future leaders into a room, and give you the tools (whether it be skillset or connections) to succeed. In the past, we’ve covered everything from the skillset you need to progress, how to effectively use the new technology changing our world, to making an impact in your business.

You can register via the registration link that will appear once the event has been announced. It’ll be announced on this page, on LinkedIn and via email. You can sign up for events at the bottom of the page. Once you’ve registered, you’ll be sent attendance information ahead of the event. On the day, we recommend arriving 15 minutes before the event is due to start. You do not need to bring anything with you, unless told otherwise.
